WHAT AREAS DOES YOUR SPONSORSHIP SUPPORT?

• Archaeological excavations and research: Your support in this area directly contributes to the discovery and preservation of valuable archaeological contexts such as remains, artifacts, and structures. This work allows us to uncover more about the history of the Marañón Culture and its ceremonial practices in Montegrande.

• Lectures and educational events: Your support helps share knowledge and raise awareness about the importance of understanding and preserving our history and cultural roots. It also funds access to these lectures for local residents and public educational organizations, ensuring they have an unforgettable experience.

• Logistical expenses: Your contribution helps maintain the site during active fieldwork seasons as well as when receiving visitors. It also allows our team to carry out research effectively and sustainably, and contributes to staff compensation.

• Study and preservation of century-old trees: Support the study of the genetics of century-old cacao trees found near the archaeological site, as well as the conservation and restoration of cacao farms containing these ancient varieties that have existed in the region for thousands of years. 

• Local cacao production: Huaca Montegrande supports local cacao-farming families by promoting their products and strengthening the local economy. Your participation helps extend this support to more cacao-growing families in Jaén.
